The Three Sisters is not a planting scheme — it is a guild pattern with thousands of years of empirical validation as a complete-protein staple system. Cover cropping is not a fallow practice — it is the productive year, where the soil itself is the harvest. Field Plot starts at ¼ acre for a household supplemental crop, scales to 1–2 acres for a family of 4–6 to lean primarily on it, and reaches 5 acres only when Trade-economic surplus is the goal.
